Holly Willoughby rocking her dress

British TV presenter and fashionista Holly Willoughby has just released her 8th collection for the online shopping site Very.co.uk and the critics are pleased. Taking a leaf out of the Mad Men playbook, Holly’s collection this time around is full of a sultry sixties style. Beautiful, flowy dresses and pretty, polka-dot patterns are all over the 24-piece collection.

Jon Owen, Very.co.uk Director, tells PR Newswire,”Holly’s designs are feminine and accessible making her one of Very.co.uk’s most popular designers. Holly’s collection has such a strong handwriting, it’s exciting to see how her range has developed over the seasons and we are sure our customers will love this new collection.” I don’t doubt that. The prices range from $24-$99 pounds ($37-$155 USD). You can check out the Holly Willoughby, or buy from it, by clicking here.

This is a distinct period in fashion that is always in style and bringing it into your everyday is easy. You can add a bit of mod or hippy flare through your hair and make-up too not just through clothes.

60s Hair

At the 2009 Golden Globes, Drew Barrymore sported a messier version of Jackie Kennedy’s iconic 60s hairstyle. Lots of hairspray and backcombing help to modernize this look.

Actress Mia Farrow started a trend when she chopped her hair into the close-cut crop in 1968′s Rosemary’s Baby. Halle Berry has been sporting this look for years. She’s updated it by adding in texture through layering and tousled styling to look more casual.

Barbara Eden rocked a ton of trendy hairstyles on the 60s hit show I Dream of Jeannie, but one of the more memorable is the classic high ponytail. Julianna Hough did a wonderful version of this look at last year’s CMA Awards.

60s Make-up

Hair and clothing received the majority of the attention, while the make-up in the 60s remained fairly simple. The make-up during this time was all about the eyes. Two classic looks were the super bold lashes and the winged eyeliner.

Twiggy and Kim Kardashian

Model Twiggy was a 60s icon. The lashes here are bold and dramatic and still in style. Kim Kardashian is one celeb that always rocks the super dramatic lashes. To recreate apply a generous amount of mascara, add false lashes on the top, and bottom if you need it, then apply white eyeliner on your waterline (inner eye area) to make your eye look bigger and lashes stand out more.

Edie Sedgwick and Adele

Andy Warhol’s muse Edie Sedgwick looks stunning with dark, defined brows and winged, cat-eye liner. British songstress Adele looks equally lovely in an updated version. Slightly softer brows and a bright lipstick keep her look modern, yet still an obvious throwback to the 60s decade she’s such a fan of.
