Milan’s Fashion Week that is sadly coming to a close soon, and while I saw a few hits, there were many misses and designers that just struck-out in my book. Some things I saw on the runway were just flat out scary! I was like ‘what is that and who in their right mind would wear it?’
First off, I have to mention the amazing Giorgio Armani. While many of the looks on his runway wouldn’t be considered for an Oscar gown, the pieces were very relaxed and something that woman can easily incorporate into their closets, while still maintaining that essential glamour. The looks were very street friendly and a nice escape from some of the crazier pieces I saw.
I give a thumbs down to Salvatore Ferragamo‘s Fall 2013 line-up. If you ask me the runway was too plain and just stiff. Where is the innovation and excitement? Nowhere, if you ask me. I found some nice staple pieces in Ferragamo’s line, like a nice white trench and a pantsuit, but the line lacked an overall cohesion and attraction.
And don’t get me wrong, I love Versace, but this runway was another disappointment. I understand Versace was aiming the line at a provocative audience and I could see some girls wearing some of the pieces, but for me, it was a miss! The vinyl bodysuits looked like they could have been constructed out of trash bags. Sorry Versace!
Last but not least, I have to mention Roberto Cavalli because I can’t say a bad thing about anything I saw on the runway. I love it all! The detail was extraordinary and the variety of textures and fabrics was impressive to say the least. If you haven’t checked out the collection yet, I would definitely recommend it!
