Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart at Breaking Dawn Premiere

There’s talk of another wedding dress, and it’s not one of royalty. Instead it’s the dress that Bella Swan wore in Breaking Dawn as she wed her vampire boyfriend Edward Cullen. Although Bella Swan is played by Kristen Stuart and Edward Cullen is played by Robert Pattinson, their on-screen romance is just as real as it is off screen. The real-life couple have now been wed on screen, and Kristen Stewart looks more like a real bride as she walks the the aisle in a dress custom-made by Carolina Herrera.

“In the initial fitting when Kristen put the dress on and looked in the mirror, she was very moved,” the designer told Vogue. ”In that moment, she was not an actress or a character in a film, she was a bride, and a happy one at that.  It is always very important to make the bride happy, of course, and in this case I was delighted to do so.  It was a very special moment for both Kristen and the character of Bella to share.”

Carolina Herrera is a big follower of The Twilight Saga, so when the author of Twilight Stephenie Meyer asked her to create the dress, Herrera was more than flattered to be a part of the project.

The dress was hand made of crepe satin. It has a French Chantilly lace peekaboo back, while the whiteness gave it the elegant and purity it deserved.  ”I was of course inspired by Stephenie’s description of the gown in the book, but I added the touch of Herrera and also took into consideration the personality and the style of the bride,” said Herrera. ”A wedding dress is both intimate and personal for a woman - it must reflect the personality and style of the bride.  Bella’s dress is romantic and filled with a timeless sophistication, very similar to the character. In a way, this dress served as a symbol of the character’s coming of age and introduction into womanhood.”

Herrera’s wedding gowns have been worn by other stylish celebs like Renee Zellweger and Christina Hendricks. So if you are thinking of walking down the aisle in the year 2012, and are a huge Twilight fan, you can now get a hold of the dress as it will hit Herrera boutiques in New York, Los Angeles, Bal Harbour and Dallas in January 2012.
