Travie McCoy

Remember Travie McCoy circa his Gym Class Heroes days?

No need to – they’ll be here again soon enough!

McCoy has been busy dropping hits like “Billionaire,” “Need You,” and “We’ll Be Alright,” but despite this year of success, he’s ready to get back in the studio for recording The Papercut Chronicles II.

The album, a sequel to the band’s second album in 2005, will be released sometime this year, according to MTV.

“We’re about 30 to 35 demos deep now. We had a really awesome session right before this tour [with Ke$ha and Rihanna] started, and we got a lot done. We’re definitely in the stages now where we’re definitely picking the cream of the crop. … The songs are starting to take shape and come together,” he said.

The now-solo star also mentioned a lot of the songs will be based off of themes applied to the original Papercut Chronicles. Makes sense that it’s a sequel then, right?

“In a perfect world, after this tour is over, I have a couple commitments to take care of, but after that, I’m jumping right into the studio,” he told MTV. “So once again, in a perfect world, we’re going to have this record out before summer.”
