Natalie Portman Lit Up the Red Carpet

The night of the Academy Awards is the movie industry’s biggest night of the year. And you can bet that on the biggest night, the biggest stars made sure to look their best. Some movies rocked the awards, but here’s who rocked the red carpet.

These light dresses floated down the carpet

Looking fairy tale flowy in lovely light dresses were Halle Berry in Marchesa, Michelle Williams in Chanel Haute Couture, Mila Kunis in Elie Saab Haute Couture, Hailee Steinfeld in a custom-made Marchesa, and Cate Blanchett in Givenchy. These frothy looks added a nice breeze to the red carpet.

Red-hot on the red carpet

Rocking shades of red were Sandra Bullock in Vera Wang, Jennifer Hudson in Versace, host Anne Hathaway in Valentino, Jennifer Lawrence in Calvin Klein Collection, and Penélope Cruz in L’Wren Scott. Far from blending in to the carpet, these ladies definitely stood out.

Every red carpet has some sparkle

Gwyneth Paltrow in shimmering Calvin Klein, Hilary Swank in a feathered Gucci gown, Mandy Moore in Monique Lhuillier, and Amy Adams in L’Wren Scott all went for the shine factor. No red carpet is complete without some sparkle, so these gowns were a gorgeous addition.

My favorite looks on the Oscars red carpet

Natalie Portman chose Rodarte for her Oscar look, which is extremely fitting considering the Mulleavy sisters also designed the gorgeous costumes seen in Black Swan. In a flowing purple gown that perfectly accented her bump, Portman kept it simple and chic with wavy hair and Tiffany jewels. Presenter Reese Witherspoon looked stunning in a classic black and white Giorgio Armani Privé gown, but what really stole the show was her fabulous ponytail. Minimal jewelry and clean makeup added to her flawless look.

Definitely worth waiting for, this year’s Oscars gave us pure red carpet gold.
