Have you ever been moved by a perfume campaign? Has an ad ever appealed to your senses with the idea that you should be wearing this right now?

Unfortunately I haven’t felt this way about perfume, until now. The fragrance is Prada’s Candy L’ Eau and after watching the mini series I’m hooked!

Directed by filmmakers Wes Anderson and Roman Coppola, viewers are transported into a Parisian world where everything is bubblegum pink and Easter blue, there are desserts galore, and a woman is the center of not one, but two, men’s attention.

Fun and carefree, the film is the essence of what a campaign should be. Seductive, alluring, and funny — if you get a girl to laugh half the job’s done.

Three and a half minutes, long the film is lengthier than most commercials. However, when broken into part, it’s no longer than a minute, enough to give you a taste of what candy could do.

Most perfume ads rely on a beautiful model with the wind in her hair, or a carefree woman on an island with a handsome European male. But Prada has put out something fresh and exciting; part of falling in love with fashion is the fantasy. The fantasy that the one product you are envying or vying for can change or alter  your appearance to fit a fantasy you have for yourself in mind.

Very rarely do we get a glimpse of that world unless it’s on the runway, and the average consumer isn’t privy to being at the tents. Bravo Prada, I’m looking forward to going Candy shopping.
