The UK has been getting all of the hot celebrities to be cover girls on their magazines. Rihanna. Kelly Rowland. Amanda Seyfried. So it’s not surprising to see supermodel Gisele Bundchen on a cover of a magazine or on the cover of anything, really.
The 31-year-old Brazilian beauty covers the December 2011 issue of “Vogue UK” with her colorful rainbow-like leggings. She’s very colorful throughout her entire spread.
Bundchen is no stranger on magazine covers though. She’s basically been on every “Vogue” cover possible from “Vogue Brazil” to “Italia.” You name it, she’s done it. In this issue, she talks about her husband and New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, as well as being home-loving, her family, her diet, and more.
Here’s some excerpts:
On her husband, Tom Brady: “Oh, Tom. He’s such a gentle giant. I’m so proud of him. When I go to watch him play, I’m like this big cheerleader, jumping up and down for him. I was born such a passionate person. I don’t know if that’s my blessing or my curse!”
On being home-loving: “Actually, I’ve never really been the kind of person who clubbed and stuff. I’m a Cancer, see. I’m home-loving. I really enjoy feeling safe, in my own environment, surrounded by the people I love.”
“Family, for me, is my base. I’m so grateful for that. I really feel that if I did not have that foundation when I was 16, I wouldn’t have dared to leave. Every year we have a family holiday, all of us together – my sisters, my parents, my sisters’ husbands and children. It’s kind of a sacred time.”
Bundchen admits that she does not “allow for bratty kids.” She talks about her two-year-old son Benjamin and her five-year-old stepson Jack.
On her kids: “My children, they are like white canvases. When Benjamin eats broccoli, he thinks it’s dessert!”
That’s surprising that a two-year-old would eat his veggies. Go Gisele!
On her own diet: “I love meat. C’mon, I’m Brazilian! But I also love animals. So what I find really helpful – you might think I’m crazy – is that before I eat any meat I always take one second of silence to put my hands over it and bless it and be grateful at least that it was a life.”
On taking care of herself: People think if you look after yourself you’re being selfish, you know. But what Tom taught me – and he is a living example of this – is that in order to be your best, you have to honor your own needs first. If I honor my needs first, I will be the best wife, the best mom, the best sister, the best friend. I have to come first, because then everyone benefits.”
From her good old Victoria’s Secret days to now being a wife and mom, Bundchen has definitely made transitions in life and she seems like a happy camper.Tags: December 2011, gisele bundchen, vogue Uk, Vogue UK December 2011
