After being questioned by a Twitter follower about her take on the video, the 38-year-old actress confessed to being raped at a young age.
Union admitted she attempted to shoot her rapist, but missed. Union told E! Online, “Every victim/survivor of rape is unique, including how they think they’d like justice to be handed out” she continued.”Over the years I realized that killing my rapist would’ve added insult to injury.”
The actress was 19 when she was attacked at work.
Union is an advocate against abuse towards women and children. Union tweets,”The desire 2 kill someone whose abused/raped u is understandable, but unless its self defense n the moment 2 save ur life, just ADDS 2 ur troubles #mandown.”
The testimony continues, “I repeat SELF DEFENSE 2 save urself/protect urself, I’m ALL 4. Otherwise victim/survivor takin justice N2 ur own hands w/ violence=MO trouble 4U!!#mandown video did a GREAT job of getting the ENTIRE world TALKING abt RAPE.
