Florence Welch

After the release of Florence and The Machine’s most recent album, the lead singer Florence Welch has decided to take some time off from her singing career and give herself time to do whatever she pleases.

In an interview with Style, the British singer said, “There’s a big ‘take a year off’ plan. The record company have put no pressure on me for the next album. They’ve said I can have as long as I want.”

Florence told the magazine she plans to spend time in East London, to which she added, “Nobody notices me in London. I think it’s because I don’t feel very starry when I go out. People expect me to be louder and wearing a huge bat-winged jumpsuit or something, but I’m quite quiet really.”

Florence and The Machine fans can get their fix during the hiatus when Florence is featured on a track from Calvin Harris’ album, 18 Months.
