Marc New York Ad Campaign

It has made its way into millions of hands as an intriguing novel, and now Fifty Shades of Grey has made a mark in the fashion world.

Andrew Marc’s upscale brand division Marc New York has taken inspiration from the racy storyline for its Fall 2012 ad campaign featuring 2012 Celebrity Apprentice contestant and 2008 Miss Universe winner Dayana Mendoza and former Scottish rugby player Thom Evans.

The ad presents the two in suggestive poses with Mendoza’s dress unzipped and Evans sporting nothing but a towel. The interesting choice for the brand leaves a question on the table—will most people even focus on the clothes?

With everyone fantasizing about Christian Grey and awaiting the release of the book’s clothing, makeup and houseware lines, it is not surprise that the high fashion world has hopped on the bandwagon.

According to Women’s Wear Daily, the ads will run in the September and October Issues of People Style Watch and Glamour. Marc New York was created in 1984 and is often confused with Marc Jacobs by unassuming consumers.
