Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty

With 661,509 visitors, the “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty” exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art was one of the largest and most successful shows yet. The exhibit showed the impact fashion has on art, and everyone, including Women’s Wear Daily, has noticed that museums are getting more and more fashionable.

Harold Koda, the head curator of the Costume Institute told WWD:
“Clearly the critical as well as popular success of the McQueen show suggests that fashion design has a more secure place in the precincts of an art museum.”
Many fashion exhibits are opening this new year, and they’ll all help cement fashion as art. has a list of the top 10 exhibits that no one will want to miss.
