Officially, GQ stands for “Gentleman’s Quarterly.” Non officially? It stands for “Got QTs,” because, let’s face it, whoever graces the magazine’s cover each month…well…they ain’t ugly.

The May 2013 issue of the British version of the magazine is no exception. The cover girl is a pretty brunette with a hot bod who clearly isn’t afraid to show it off. Donning what looks like a dress (or at least half of one), hoop earrings the size of a baby’s head, and a spattering of tattoos on her toned tummy, this chick is the epitome of hotness…at least by male standards.

Ugh…men. Is this really how they like their women? Long hair, scantily clad, boobs ah-blazin’, leaving little to the imagination? Pathetic! I don’t know who this new cover girl is but nuh-huh I don’t like her. I want to see a girl I can respect…look up to, ya know? Why couldn’t they have chosen someone like Emma Watson to be on the cover? I love that girl! She’s total class, all the way. Who is this chick on the cover anyway? Never seen this gal in my life!

Actually, the more I look at her…she looks a little familiar…I mean…her face looks kind of like…but it couldn’t be…wait a second…is that…EMMA WATSON IS THAT YOU?! Goodness gracious, girly! Look at you!

Yup! That’s Emma Watson right there! But it’s not really her, you see. It’s her character! You know, the one she’s playing in Sofia Coppola‘s highly anticipated upcoming film, The Bling Ring?

Ladies and gents, meet Nicki, also known as the “Valley vixen” and member of the totally real and totally infamous Hollywood Bling Ring, a gang of teens that burglarized the homes of some of Hollywood’s biggest celebs between the years 2008 and 2009.

Apparently, Emma’s playing a character similar to Alexis Neiers. She pole dances, she steals, she’s what you call a “wild child,” she’s absolutely nothing like Emma Watson…and I love it! Hermione no more, Emma’s taking on roles with risk…and with a (heaping) spoonful of risque. And with Sofia Coppola directing the film, it’s bound to be the hottest flick hitting theaters next summer!

Alexis and her pals raided the homes of celebs like Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Orlando Bloom, and Rachel Bilson. They bagged designer bags and snagged millions of dollars worth of jewels. They got caught, did some jail time, and toward the end of her sentence, Alexis reportedly sat in a cell next to…get this…Lindsay Lohan! Oh the irony! Man, this story is just too perfect for a movie!

Emma says she jumped at the chance to play Nicki, telling the British mag, “When I read the script and I realized that essentially it was a meditation on fame and what it’s become to our society, I had to do it. The character is everything that I felt strongly against — she’s superficial, materialistic, vain, amoral. She’s all of these things and I realized that I hated her. But I found it really interesting and it gave me a whole new insight into what my job, or my role as an actress, could be” (British GQ).

I am seriously pumped for this film, and no doubt Emma’s new GQ spread will attract even more fans. I’ve got to say…I love GQ’s idea of putting an actress in character on their cover. I’ve never seen a magazine do that, and it’s such a fun concept! It’s even better when the actress being featured is channeling a character totally unlike herself.

Our beloved, innocent Emma is tapping into her inner bad girl! And, as GQ’s male-dominated audience would agree with me, there’s no crime in that.

What do you guys think of Emma’s new look? Are you as excited for her new role as I am?! If you haven’t seen the film’s killer trailer, check it out here!
