Masspike Miles

Don’t let the baby face fool you! Masspike Miles is not your average R&B singer, and his music proves it. The first artist to be signed to Maybach Music, Masspike Miles has a way of standing out without even trying. The R&B singer is the perfect artist, combining motivation, dedication and an amazing voice. Soon, Masspike Miles will be the singer that all artists will want on their songs.emcBlue got a chance to sit down with Masspike Miles to talk about his inspirations, future projects, Maybach Music and much more.

emcBlue: What inspired you to become a singer?

Masspike Miles: I decided that I wanted to be in music business professionally at 11 yrs. old, being around it all my life and being from a real R&B city. My father being a big inspiration musically, and being brought up on jazz greats my whole life, has had the most influence on me.

emcBlue: How does it feel being a part of Maybach Music?

Masspike Miles: Without being facetious, how you think I feel to be apart of one of the biggest, most respected labels in the game? Baby, it feels good! I was actually Maybach Music’s first artist signed to the label.

emcBlue: Was it difficult to be respected as a singer?

Masspike Miles: “RESPECT, baby, is the ONLY thing a man has when every tangible reality is either stolen or taken away,” as stated by Booker T. Washington. I don’t have a problem getting respect as a singer at all, hard work pays off-so we grinding till it’s time. However, I had to tone the image down for the ladies who been courting me for some time. You know, respect my fans’ wishes musically.

emcBlue: All the ladies love your single “Flatline,” and they all want to know: do you have a girlfriend?

Masspike Miles: Good looking love, I appreciate the love and support. I really wanted to give my supporters something they been requesting for some time now. I just wanted to make sure it was conveyed the best way possible. So me and my manager decided to take me off tour to give my supporters The Road Less Traveled.

emcBlue: What do you want fans to get from your music?

Masspike Miles: Basically, after touring with some of the biggest names in the business, I decided to give the people my experiences from all the countries on this EP. To sum everything up, I just wanted my fans to learn from my experiences and utilize the wisdom they gain for their lives proactively.

emcBlue: What other singers/rappers influence you?

Masspike Miles: Miles Davis, and Thelonious Monk, Marvin Gaye and many of the greats that many children my age didn’t have the privilege of listening to. My father is the most influential, though.

emcBlue: The Road Less Traveled has become very popular and a successful EP.  Do you feel that there was a different type of music or vibe in this EP from your past songs?

Masspike Miles: The Road Less Traveled is a totally different vibe all together from my previous releases or mixtapes. I decided to cater this time more to my female supporters, who have patiently requested this type of work from me for years.

emcBlue: What are you currently working on? Future plans?

Masspike Miles: Say Hello to Forever, my current project, is due to drop January 10, 2012. Be prepared for this ride, babygirl, I think you’re gonna really be pleased with this project.

When asked for a last word, Miles left us with this:

“I would like to offer my deepest appreciation to all my fans and supporters. Salute to all my Cape Verdiens. I would like all the youth who support me to know that anything is possible with God and to remain focused on your craft. Nothing worth having was built over night, PERSISTENCE and DETERMINATION are the only things in life that are OMNIPOTENT!!!!!”
