Forget about Nemo, Dory was the breakout star of Finding Nemo and it seems like Pixar agrees. Today, Ellen DeGeneres, the voice of Dory, announced there will be a sequel to one of my favorite movies!
The sequel will be called Finding Dory and will follow the beloved blue fish on her own adventure this time. DeGeneres has been asking the producers to create a sequel for the movie. I bet she was surprised to find out that this time she would be the main character!
After ironically returning from Australia for a little vacation, DeGeneres was more than excited to announce the sequel on her show today.
“I know people at Pixar were busy creating Toy Story 16. But the time they took was worth it. The script is fantastic. And it has everything I loved about the first one: it’s got a lot of heart, it’s really funny, and the best part is –it’s got a lot more Dory,” said DeGeneres.
I hope they are able to get the whole cast back together for the sequel. If Toy Story can do it so can Finding Nemo!
Even though we have all been waiting patiently for the sequel we have to wait a little longer. Finding Dory isn’t set to be released until November 25, 2015. But like Dory always says, “just keep swimming!” It will be here before we know it!
Will you be going to see Finding Dory?
