Actress Elizabeth Banks has been busy the last few months globetrotting in promotion of her recent turn as Effie Trinket in “The Hunger Games” and Wendy in the upcoming rom-com, “What to Expect When You’re Expecting.” Effie Trinket is known for her peppy personality and lavish and spirited costumes. Staying true to the character, Elizabeth has become one to watch on the red carpet for her risk-taking and full-on embrace of this season’s hottest hues, textures and prints. Read on to see a few of Elizabeth’s best red carpet moments even the lovely Effie Trinket would be jealous of!
Elizabeth Banks was beautiful at the “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” New York premiere in a Peter Pilotto floral motif dress. Elizabeth exuded sophistication and sexiness in sheer cutouts and a keyhole at the bustline of this dress, but the styling pulled the overall look together. Her vintage-style hair and makeup paired with black, peep-toe Walter Steiger heels and a black clutch completed the stunning look.
Straying from the typical black or fishtail gowns that took precedence at the 2012 Met Gala, Elizabeth Banks went a bit Elizabethan (no pun intended) in this Mary Katrantzou peplum gown and embellished Christian Louboutin heels. She mixed and matched digital prints and patterns effortlessly here. The front slit and red clutch were perfect additions. Elizabeth definitely stood out and possibly rivaled Effie Trinkett’s outlandish costumes!
Elizabeth was as bright as a ray of sunshine in this gorgeous Bill Blass gown and Jimmy Choo heels at the London premiere of “The Hunger Games.” She looked ready for spring in one of this season’s trendiest colors and textures: yellow and sequins. A shining example of chic and class, it’s no secret why Elizabeth has been on everyone’s “Best Dressed” list. The cap sleeves, open-back, face-framing ringlets and matching clutch formed a cohesive, stylish look for the star.
Elizabeth fired up the promotional trail and carpet in this bright orange, floor-length Elie Saab gown. The sleeveless, beautifully draped gown was definitely flattering on her. The gathered waist, embellished details and her wavy mane upped the style ante. Elizabeth radiated confidence and old Hollywood glamour.
