Chris Brown and controversial neck tattoo

I guess that Chad Johnson isn’t the only one getting tattoos of former flames. According to nydailynews, Chris Brown may be doing it too. The Turn Up the Music singer revealed his new tattoo on the red carpet earlier this month.

Chris Brown’s mystery ink is the center of controversy for its gruesome appearance. Many people thinks the tattoo bears a resemblance to Rihanna after Chris Brown assaulted her in 2009. But why would Chris Brown want to wear a beaten Rihanna on his neck? Reps say that the tattoo isn’t Rihanna, and that its a Mexican symbol from the Hispanic holiday: The Day of The Dead.

“His tattoo is a sugar skull (associated with the Mexican celebration of the Day of the Dead) and a MAC cosmetics design he saw,” a rep told ABCNews.com via nydailynews, “It is not Rihanna or an abused woman as erroneously reported.”

The rep also said that  since the tattoo is weathering down, it looks now is different from when Chris first got it.

I don’t know what surprises me more: The fact that Chris Brown got such a gruesome tattoo on his neck or that people think it could actually be Rihanna. Chris Brown is known for doing some impulsive things, like sending offensive tweets and starting bar fights, but I don’t think he would get a beaten Rihanna tattooed on his neck. Come on people, give the poor kid a break. What we should really be criticizing is the long hair on his face. Has this guy looked in the mirror lately? I think it’s time for a trim.
