Those who are obsessed with music and music festivals have something to be very excited about right now: The Coachella 2013 lineup has officially been released.

For those of you who don’t know, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival (Coachella) is an annual three-day music and arts festival that is held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. It was founded by Paul Tollett in 1999. Ever since, the music festival has grown to be an extremely popular event that many people look forward to going to.

Being that it’s held in a desert-like area, temperatures at the concert can get extremely high. Because of this, concert attendees dress appropriately in minimum clothing. The fashion choices that are seen at this festival are actually just as exciting as the music itself!

Last year, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg were two of the big names to play. The tickets had gone on sale on Jan. 13 and sold out in a matter of only three hours, showing just how popular this event truly is. Other notable artists from last year’s event were Frank Ocean, Gotye, the Weeknd, Childish Gambino, the Shins and the Black Keys. Plus, some other artists like 50 Cent and Eminem also showed up to perform, even though they weren’t listed on the official lineup.

This year, the lineup is equally as amazing as the previous years. With artists like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Postal Service, Vampire Weekend, Bassnectar, Modest Mouse, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and the Wu-Tang Clan, it’s sure to be an amazing festival. Those are not the only ones scheduled to perform, though. The list is quite a long one, with a variety of over 160 performers scattered through the dates.

With such an extensive and popular lineup, I can’t wait to see photos and videos from the event. I’ll have to wait a little bit longer, though, because the festival won’t be taking place until April. Coachella is currently scheduled happen on two weekends in April: April 12, 13 & 14 and April 19, 20 & 21.

One of the coolest things about the Coachella Music Festival is that it’s not limited to one specific music group. Unlike other festivals that are purely for rock performers or DJs, this one brings all music types together. Three of the most popular genres of music featured at this year’s event will be rock, hip-hop and electric dance music (EDM).

What do you think of this year’s lineup? Are you planning on attending Coachella 2013? Have you been to any of the past festivals? Let us know!
