So, you know what the weirdest trend of the season is?

For me, it’s the clear shoe trend. This trend is a little difficult for me to fully accept because a clear heel can easily look trashy and cheap if done wrong! Like the stripper heel for example. Don’t let this scare you away from giving it a chance, though because there are ways to make it work as many designers illustrated on this season’s runways. We saw it with BCBG to Isaac Mizrahi to Diane Von Furstenberg. Take notes!

Take Kate Spade’s clear heel with a pop of pink and red. That definitely takes the trashyness right out of the clear shoes in my mind. This heel is unique and fresh and that is why I like it. I can see it paired with a cute dress or preppy shorts. This shoe is a far cry away from the prom and club shoes that usually incorporate clear plastic details.

This is a trend to watch out for. The stars are having a good time trying it out. I have even seen jewelry and clothing with clear plastic pieces sown in and paired with fabric textures and metal hardware. I think we will be seeing a lot more of this trend to come. I say it sticks around!

It has even made its way to the floors of Forever 21. Every fashionista can try out this trend and see for themselves. Maybe start out with a casual clear flat. I think with a nice pedi, these flats can complete an adorable summer outfit. I like the open-toed flats with the silver hardware detail. These details work nicely with clear plastics.

What do you think? I would like to see some with spikes! Will you be trying it out soon?
