Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo.” Cinderella finally gets her own red bottom shoe. In April, red bottom extraordinaire, Christian Louboutin, announced his collaboration with Disney to design a modern pair of the iconic glass slippers worn by Disney’s beloved princess, Cinderella. The shoes were unveiled this week in Paris, celebrating the studio’s rerelease and Diamond Edition of the film on Blu-ray and DVD this fall.

Typical of the French footwear savant, the glass slippers are sexy, elegant and sophisticated. So much so that Cinderella might not want to leave these behind for Prince Charming.

The glass slippers have the signature red sole adorned with white lace detailing and sparkling butterflies at the toe, and of course, bling in the form of Swarovski crystals. While there is no glass heel as shown in the film, the design still holds true to Louboutin’s aesthetic, incorporating elements of the Disney fantasy. Fit for a princess, the delicate slippers were presented with Louboutin’s original sketches and still shots from the animated film as well as short clips of Louboutin describing the process and assemblage of creating the shoe. It is still unclear if the shoes will be available for purchase, but we’re almost certain fashionistas will be wishing upon a star to add the dainty slippers to their closets.

“Cinderella is not only an iconic character when it comes to beauty, grace and fairytale love, but also shoes,” Louboutin told WWD. “Her character and her story dictated the design to me; it was all there in the pages and the words of this tale. I have been so lucky to have crossed paths with Cinderella, an icon who is so emblematic to the shoe world as well as the dream world.”

Are you wowed by Cinderella’s new slippers?
