He was known for his frequent use of the word “fierce” and his impeccable fashion creations. Christian Siriano of fashion’s reality hit TV show, “Project Runway,” was one of the most successful contestants and winners. Building on his buzz from the show, the young designer presented impressive collections season after season at Fashion Week and also launched a fashionable and affordable line with Payless shoe stores. Not to mention he’s created some amazing red carpet gowns for stars such as Christina Hendricks, Elizabeth Davis, Whoopi Goldberg and Victoria Beckham. Now, he adds opening his own boutique to the list. Located in New York City on the famed Elizabeth Street in Nolita, Christian Siriano’s new boutique joins the company of design greats like Tory Burch, Cynthia Vincent and Dolce Vita. According to WWD, the boutique is quaint, measuring at approximately 1000 square feet. But for a small space, it seems the boutique will pack a lot of high-end style and fashion. His eveningwear, sports and ready-to-wear collections will be displayed. Ranging from $120 for cool tops or funky footwear to $2,000 for amazing gowns, there’s something for every fashionista, whether budget shopping or splurging. There will also be skirts, jackets, one-of-a-kind cocktail dresses, accessories and housewares.
“I’m very excited to open my first retail concept store on Elizabeth Street in SoHo, a neighborhood which has always been a high-end shopping destination,” Siriano said in a statement. “I have always wanted to open a space where my customers can shop exclusive pieces curated by me and my team. The store is a great showcase for the collection, and I’m hoping this will be the first of many Christian Siriano retail locations.”
But that’s not all. The designer plans to have an official launch party on September 5 and then a fancy gala celebrating Fashion Night Out the next day. Just in time for Fashion Week, his store is sure to have a lot of traffic and be fully stocked with all those designs we’ve come to love on the show, runways and at Payless. Siriano might have retired his use of the word fierce. But we’ll resurrect it for old times sake, considering this is one fierce fashion venture for the colorful “Project Runway” alum.
