President Barack Obama Endorses Gay Marriage

President Barack Obama has done it again. He continues to shock and amaze people all over the world as he makes great strides in American history. In an interview with ABC News yesterday (May 9th), for the first time ever, the President states that he is a supporter of gay marriage! Hollywood undoubtedly had a lot to say about the news. Twitter exploded with words of encouragement from several A-List celebs including Ellen DeGeneres, Kim Kardashian, Adam Levine, Justin Timberlake, and many more. Keep reading to see what they had to say.

In the interview, when asked what prompted the decision, President Obama thanks his daughters Sasha and Malia whose friends have gay parents. He states:

There have been times where Michelle and I have been sitting around the dinner table and we’re talking about their friends and their parents. And Malia and Sasha, it wouldn’t dawn on them that somehow their friends’ parents would be treated differently. It doesn’t make sense to them and frankly, that’s the kind of thing that prompts a change in perspective.

Well, Mr. President, it seems that Hollywood agrees. Here are what some of the stars Tweeted about the news:

Ellen DeGeneres

Adam Levine

Jane Lynch

Justin Timberlake

Ricky Martin

Neil Patrick Harris

Modern Family star Jesse Tyler FergusonLast but not least, Kim Kardashian writes on her blog “We’ve never had a president so supportive of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and today I am proud to be an American!! I’m so happy that our country is making history and moving forward. No more living in the past!”

So there you have it.
