Most people in their early teens don’t know that much about fashion. Most people (including me) went through an Aeropostale/Hollister phase in their late tween/early teen stage. However, there are some people out there that never had any of these problems, and one of them is Chloë Moretz.
Moretz is a 14 year old teen actress who has starred in films such as Kick-Ass and Let Me In. Besides being a terrific actress, Moretz is also a young fashionista. She describes Chanel, Dior, and Christopher Kane as her favorite labels. She was called fashion’s child star by Vogue UK, and she’s even thinking about starting her own line when she turns 16. Moretz even chooses her own clothes. The majority of stars in Hollywood have a stylist, meaning that they have someone help them choose their outfits and pick their clothes for them. Other stars, like Moretz, don’t have a stylist that picks their clothes, so their outfit choices are 100% their own, and even more noteworthy.
At a collection, Moretz wore a sleek, black number (left) that embodied how mature she is for her age. The dress is a stunning with white beading near the neckline. Sometimes when people wear certain clothes that might not have been created for their age, it can be too much. However, I think this dress is just perfect for Moretz, and she wears it well.
Moretz also wears plenty of designer clothing. In this look (right), Moretz looks very chic wearing a look from Burberry’s 2011 resort collection at the premiere of Justin Bieber’s movie, Never Say Never. This is also a great piece, and the turquoise color belt Moretz is wearing adds the right amount of color and pop to the dress. I have noticed that in a lot of her outfits, especially whenever Moretz is wearing a more subdued color, she will add a bright or neon colored accessory to the outfit, which is a trick that can work for any woman at any age.
Moretz is also wonderful at mixing prints. At the Variety 5th Annual Power of Youth Event, Moretz was seen wearing (below) the KENZO Collection (designed by Opening Ceremony designers Carol Lim and Humberto Leon). I would’ve never thought to put those two pieces together because I would’ve thought that they would clash. However, Moretz was brave enough to put them together and ended up with a gorgeous look. Taking fashion risks is important for everyone; you never know what outfit you could put together.
Moretz is a rising fashion and movie star, and soon enough she’ll be all we talk about. Even though Moretz is younger than me, I still get inspired by her looks. Adding bold colors and mixing prints and wearing statement shoes are all things this young girl does, but that doesn’t mean we can’t do them too.Tags: burberry, celebrity style profile, chanel, Chloe Moretz, christopher kane, dior, KENZO, Kick-Ass, Let Me In, rising fashionista
