In Why-the-Heck-Not News, we have Kardashian sending out functional music boxes as baby shower invitations, Rihanna snapping pictures of her nude tush on Instagram, and Paris Hilton signing a deal with Cash Money Records.
While the first two shouldn’t even be a surprise, the latter could potentially be a joke. Sorry, it’s not. Hilton is now part of the longest/completely unnecessary acronym known to man, YMCMB, aka Young Money Cash Money Billionaires. Can I get a PHEW.
Following her debut album in 2006, Paris, Hilton is ready to release a club anthem themed album. Afrojack, all-star DJ and EDM aficionado is behind the production of the project, which she hopes will be released just in time for summer.
And, of course, what would be a YMCMB product be without the addition of Weezy on some tracks?!
You’re probably thinking, “Paris just gained more street cred, and Lil’ Wayne has lost it all”.
Such a “glass-half-empty” approach, no?
If you want to talk about street cred, that went out the window a long, long time ago. Along with the idea that artists need to stick to their original genre. But this isn’t about Wayne rapping, it’s about him and Birdman expanding their brand.
What’s popular now? House music. What do 99.9% of all YMCMB songs consist of? Partying. What is Paris Hilton good at? Partying (among other things of course, but for the sake of the point…).
What’s that I see? Dolllllaaaaa $$$$ign$.
She’s obviously no stranger to hip-hop , as she’s appeared in videos and become buddy-buddy with its stars. Oh, look, here she is cheesin’ with 2 Chainz…
It really is a win-win for everyone. Paris gets back to doing something she’s passionate about, and YMCMB gets more money! They just love that stuff!
Last year, she gave a few details to MTV regarding the new project.
“I think a lot of people don’t know that music is my passion since I was a little girl. I’m very musically talented. This is more my thing [musically on this album], more of a club scene, more dance.”
Aw man, no more of this?! Because I actually really like this song…NO SHAME.
