Celebrity/ designer collaborations have become a victim of ubiquity. Every brand has a celebrity alter-ego serving as spokesperson, creative force, and ultimately – selling point. Unfortunately for both the fashion industry and the millions of pliable entities of the consumerist generation, willing to go from consumer to customer with one swipe of their ever-weary credit card, celebrity association does not a chic collection make. But there are exceptions: times when a star is just so perfectly aligned with their brand it almost seems an instance of astrological intervention.  For example, Sarah Jessica Parker’s upcoming shoe line created with Manolo Blahnik. Could you die?

In case any of you are unsure, this woman knows her way around shoes. Not only did she portray sartorial goddess, Carrie Bradshaw for 6 seasons (and two movies!!), her “real-life” closet isn’t hurting either. Some examples below…

Okay, the red carpet shoes are expectedly phenomenal.

But the day wear? Just for strolling around the city? #toomuch #inagoodway

The collection will be a product of not only SJP’s lethally sharp fashion instincts but those of Manolo Blahnik CEO George Malkemus as well. Expected for public debut early next year, they will be sold at Nordstroms and will run for about $200 to $300 a pair. A far cry from your Old Navy flip-flops, but for Manolo creations… not too steep.

While no images or inspirations have been leaked to the interweb yet, you can be certain this collaboration will be something worth waiting for. And when you finally get one of those illustrious pairs? You will officially be one step (or two!) closer to Carrie Bradshaw’s closet.

Will you splurge on the Sarah Jessica Parker/ Manolo Blahnik shoe collection?
