Johnny Depp in "Dark Shadows"

Tim Burton’s newest film Dark Shadows is based on the show from the 60′s. However, this reboot has been “Burtonized.”

Can you guess who the two stars of the film are? Well, if you think back to the stars of Sweeny Todd, or Alice and Wonderland, you’d be correct. Since Tim Burton’s engagement to Helena Bonham Carter, she has appeared in almost all of his films. The better question for Johnny Depp is, what films hasn’t he appeared in?

With Dark Shadows, Burton is using the same two actors, but it’s getting old. Although Burton has a unique and recognizable style, I sometimes wonder if he will try something different. I’m not too excited for Dark Shadows. It almost looks like a live action Corpse Bride. I’d love to see Burton take a stab at something new.
