After struggling with her post-baby body for months, the former teen pop icon flaunts her toned tummy on the cover of the June issue of Shape magazine, and there’s no question – Britney’s back! The mother of two has found that keeping her body in tip-top shape isn’t quite as easy as it used to be back when she was a teenager posing for Rolling Stone.
The then 17-year-old caused a stir in 1999 when she exposed her belly for the now-iconic, racy cover of the rock magazine. At the time, Spears was the symbol of what every girl wanted to be, and the object of every man’s affection. She reintroduced the notion of naughty schoolgirls to the public and wore increasingly skimpy costumes for her music videos.
Now, grown and done with her studies, Spears no longer pairs her knee-high socks with plaid skirts and button down tops. Rather, as displayed in the in-spread of Shape’s June issue, she goes for a more modern look.
The singer is photographed next to a punching bag in a high-waisted black-and-white skirt paired with a black bra top. Although this outfit does not entirely scream motherly sophistication, Spear’s is back in her workout groove. And who’s to say she’s not on top of the world with all those endorphins? Either way, she’s definitely on the tops of every Shape subscriber’s mind.
In the arresting image displayed on the June cover Spears looks trim and crisp in a white Deja Soleil bikini with numerous straps and cutouts. Her hair is in waves and her trademark diamond belly ring is eye-catching on the page. Once again the envy of every girl and the dream of every man, Spears has whipped her body (and her life) back into shape.Tags: Britney Spears, fitness, icon, pop culture, Rolling Stone, Shape Magazine
