Britney Spears, Howie Dorough

It’s absolutely time to party like it’s 1999. That’s right, Britney Spears has officially signed on Backstreet Boy Howie Dorough (better known as “Howie D”) to join her in the South American leg of her Femme Fatale tour. We know, you probably thought it would be Nick or AJ, but Howie is set to release his first ever solo album, Back to Me in just a few weeks on November 15! This tour is a great way to show off those vocals that, for the most part, stick to background singing and super high notes in BSB.

“Exciting annoucement is going to happen today… you all ready?” Howie tweeted on Monday to pump up his fans. He followed this up but adding “I’m so excited that I’m going joining @britneyspears on several dates of the Femme Fatale tour!” Brit’s tour has been pretty star studded, with previous opening acts Nicki Minaj, DJ Pauly D, and Joe Jonas.

Howie reached out to MTV and shared with them his excitement for his solo career to truly begin, and we’re right there with him. “I feel [it's] a total representation of where I’m at right now in my life and [it represents] things that are going on, positive-ness and energy. I think it’s really a chance for people to hear me and know my voice.”

But, as I am a huge BSB fan and thoroughly enjoyed rocking out to NKOTBSB last May, I was left wondering if yet another Backstreet Boy would be off the band list. Luckily for me though, I was reassured that Howie will rejoin the NKOTBSB European tour that will kick off in April! Howie D’s site has all the deets on tickets, VIP passes, and more, and those of you in South America better get the tickets fast– his first stop with Brit is November 20!
