Braided hair for a bad hair day

Everyone has those days when every hairstyle you try looks an absolute mess. After failed attempts of ‘do after ‘do, it’s tempting to just throw on a hat and call it a day; but fret not bad-hair-day-er! These easy and cute braids will make you wonder why there was a problem in the first place.

The Mermaid

The Mermaid

Upgrade your fishtail to a mermaid. A mixture of the fishtail and a French braid, the mermaid braid is incredibly unique in appearance and technique. The difference between the mermaid and the fishtail, is that the mermaid only uses a little bit of hair,  concentrating the braid in the middle of the hair, rather than incorporating all of it.  This braid is perfect for those relaxed days when you want to look like you didn’t try, even though in reality you did.

For a more teased beach-y feel, pull of some of the hairs out of the braid or tease your hair before braiding it to create some fly aways. This will add more personality to the braid. For a tutorial on how to do it, watch below!

The Waterfall

The Waterfall Braid

This braid takes bohemian to a new height. The waterfall braid got its name from the  locks of hair that cascade from the braid. Any one can do this braid, but it’s especially great for the days when you need to pull your hair out of your face. Add some character to your ‘do by braiding both half of the front of your hair into waterfall braids, then joining them at the back of your head like the picture above.

Watch the video below to learn to create this braid!

The French Ballerina

The French Ballerina

Last, is The French Ballerina. Okay, so this style isn’t actually called The French Ballerina but it should be. Next time you feel like wearing a bun, add some girly flare by French braiding the back of your hair into the bun. Start by flipping your hair upside down and beginning the braid at the nape of your neck. Continue braiding until you’ve reached the desired length, then smooth don the front of your hair and pull it all into a bun. This look gives more sophistication to the everyday bun. Wear this looks anywhere and you’ll be sure to get compliments all day and night.

Not having a bad hair day? Wear these looks anyway! You don’t need a reason to look cute.
