Bob Dylan

The man who brought his distaste against the Vietnam War into the American radios waves is making a shock concert location: Vietnam! Yes, Bob Dylan, who sang to audiences with such chilling and anti-war filled verses from songs like Masters’ of War’ and ‘Blowin in the Wind’ is headed to the one country we’d never thought he’d go (or even be allowed!)Just take a look at these classic lyrics:

“You fasten all the triggers
For the others to fire
Then you set back and watch
When the death count gets higher
You hide in your mansion’
As young people’s blood
Flows out of their bodies
And is buried in the mud.”
-Masters of War

It’s just really going to be a complete shock to see him in Vietnam after all those protest filled years. In an article with Billboard, Rod Quinton, the general manager of Ho Chi Minh City-based Saigon Sound System stated,

“We are bringing him here because Bob Dylan is a very important legend of music and we think it’s important that Vietnamese people, particularly the younger generation, are exposed to his legacy and what he’s done for music,” Quinton said.

And in case that didn’t shock you (and if it didn’t, who are you?), then know that Bob Dylan is also performing in China. What do you think of Bob Dylan’s choice of concert venues? Are you even interested in seeing him perform live?
