Valley of the Dolls (1967)

NBC is once again trying its hand at historical fiction, this time with a little help from Jacqueline Susann. Though its premiere date remains unknown, Valley of the Dolls, the series, will indeed hit boob tubes at some point in the not-too-distant future.

It’s not clear whether the series adaptation will be based on the 1967 film treatment or the original novel, but NBC execs aren’t leaving anything to chance having elected an A-lister to helm the project. more…

Community Verges on Cancelation

NBC is acting like a wounded animal, wild and reckless, and it’s doing anything and everything to cling to its dwindling ratings (which can be viewed here and here). That means bad news for Community, a show with poor ratings, but an impressively loyal fan-base.

The Playboy bunny is an icon about as delightfully tacky yet unrefined as the Hooter’s owl. The bow-tied rabbit has always been a symbol of everything low-brow in American culture. So when NBC created a show about the bustling early days of the notorious Playboy Club, critics couldn’t help but imagine a sort of undignified rehashing of Mad Men. A little brother or sister for Cece is on the way

Jenna Fischer, who plays Pam on The Office, has confirmed that Jim and Pam will start the the show’s 8th season expecting their second child.  “Pam will be pregnant when the season starts.” Fischer told Vulture.
