Natalie Portman

As Natalie Portman gracefully and tearfully accepted her first Academy Award for Best Actress last night, her win celebrated not only her haunting performance and undeniable success as Nina in Black Swan, but also her amazing attitude.  And so I’d like to present Natalie Portman with my own post-Oscars honor: The Chillest Chick to Ever Win an Oscar award.  And this chick definitely deserves it.

As hype mounted for Black Swan, Ms. Portman was suddenly all over the place: talk shows, magazine covers, events of all kinds.  And at every occasion, Natalie displayed her unwavering chillitude.  One of my favorite bits from all the Oscar pre-gaming was Natalie’s super-chill take on Black Swan‘s memorable girl-on-girl sex scene. more…

Slash, Truly Rocking

Glee fans: don’t hold your breath waiting for the day the cast will welcome you to the jungle.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Slash, Guns N’ Roses’ mysterious sunglasses-and-top-hat-wearing guitarist, said that he has denied a request from the Glee producers and will continue to keep GNR music out of the show. more…

Britney Spears single, "Hold It Against Me"

Britney Spears’ latest single, “Hold It Against Me,” hit the internet a bit earlier than expected this week.  The single, which was supposed to drop on January 11th, was all over the internet on Monday after entertainment news websites such as Entertainment Weekly and E! Online announced the leak of Ms. Spears’ new song.

The good news is the release of this single seems to be more than just a tease, unlike her debut of  2009′s “3.” more…

A scene from Thursday night's live episode of '30 Rock.'

The critically-acclaimed yet not highly-rated 30 Rock finally got a much-needed boost in ratings last night with their live episode. The NBC comedy saw a 43% increase over last week in adults aged 18-49, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The live 30 Rock episode was certainly widely-publicized and highly-anticipated. Overall, it was a decent episode, but not one of the series’ best. more…

Steve Carell as Michael Scott on 'The Office.'

It’s been a sad year for fans of The Office. With more drama than lighthearted comedy, this season has undoubtedly been the worst of the series. Even more tragic is the confirmation of Steve Carell’s departure from the show when the upcoming seventh season ends.

Carell told Entertainment Weekly he will be leaving the hit NBC comedy after season 7 at the premiere of his new animated movie Despicable Me this past weekend. “I think it’s a good time to move on,” Carell said. “I just want to spend more time with my family.”
