Game of Thrones on HBO

HBO seems to have another successful series as Game of Thrones is set to return with a second season next spring. The show, based on the books by George R. R. "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark"

After nine years of accidents and delays, “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” opened on Tuesday night at Foxwoods Theater.

The $70 million show opening welcomed many celebrities including Spike Lee, Steve Martin, Liam Neeson, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and Bill and Chelsea Clinton, which caused the musical to start about 50 minutes late. The opening also welcomed back Julie Taymor, the original producer of the piece. Taymor walked the red carpet, gave interviews and received a standing ovation after the performance. more…

Laurence Fishburne

Entertainment Weekly has been confirmed Laurence Fishburne will not be returning to “CSI” this fall.

After just two and a half seasons, Fishburne, who came on the procedural drama to replace William Peterson who left the show in 2008, has decided to return to film full time. Fishburne can be seen next in Steven Soderbergh’s thriller Contagion. more…

Patrick Dempsey

Patrick Dempsey says he will not be continuing his role as Dr. Derek Shepherd aka “McDreamy” on ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” after Season 8.

Dempsey has been on the medical drama since 2005 and said his departure will be “bittersweet.” “It’s gonna be my last. I do not know what’s going to happen to the other characters, but for me it’s done,” Dempsey said, “[Leaving will be] bittersweet because it’s been a great part of my life. But I can’t see me doing it anymore.” more…

Chris Meloni

It was confirmed on Tuesday that Chris Meloni, who plays Detective Stabler on “Law & Order: SVU,” will not be returning for a 13th season.

Meloni has been on the show since it started in 1999. His partner on the show, Olivia Benson, played by Mariska Hargitay, has signed a contract to appear in the next season, which has been announced to return in the fall, but Deadline reports that she was only signed for the first 13 episodes. more…
