Nicole Richie has long since shed her party girl image from her Simple Life days and has made quite a name for herself in the fashion world. Her line House of Harlow 1960, named after her daughter, has expanded greatly since its start in 2008. The jewelry and accessory line is full of chunky bangles, opulent rings and oversized sunglasses, all staying true to Nicole’s boho chic style.
She launched a second women’s line shortly after called Winter Kate, again named after her daughter, and the clothes are beautiful. Prints, wide leg pants, a surplus of flowy, peasant style tops and maxi dresses are the line’s staples. The only downside is the price. As a high-end line, the prices aren’t exactly budget friendly. A camisole for 181 dollars, really? But now there’s a possible solution.
Nicole’s anticipated QVC line is launching next week, and prices are said to range from $75-$257. It sounds nice, but will it deliver? According to her it can.
“I want to connect with the women watching by letting them know that we are similar in many ways; I’m a mother of two and I work,” she says in an interview with Contact Music. “We all want to feel relaxed on the inside but stylish on the outside. And that’s what I’m trying to provide.”
One can only hope her quality and unique flare don’t go down as she mass markets her fashions.
It’s definitely going to be interesting to see how audiences respond to the line. I’m optimistic it’ll be positive just because of the affordability. A similar top to the one pictured above, retails for $530 in her Winter Kate line, and a pair of trendy, skinny jeans for $339. As for the accessories, a purse of similar size goes for $281 from House of Harlow and ankle boots at $295. According to, Hollywood Life, the line will be shown on The QVC’s The Buzz on the Red Carpet — Live From L.A. show at 9 pm this Friday. Tune in to get your first look at the whole collection.
