Miley Cyrus and Liam Hensworth

Miley Cyrus was  upset this week during her vacation in Costa Rica with beau Liam Hemsworth. As the couple attempted to board a helicopter, young Costa Rican fans surrounded them excitedly. When Miley tried to excuse herself from the fans, one lady called her an asshole.

Miley Cyrus responded: “What the f—, are you for real?”  According to Haveuheard, the star reluctantly posed for a few more pictures, but “seemed less than thrilled” about the whole situation.

The local Costa Rican news caught the whole thing on camera.

Miley responded to the controversy on twitter:

“Been trying not to tweet & just enjoy the holidays but just to clear something up I would NEVER swear to a fan. When someone yells something SO rude making ME look like an ‘a**hole’ in front of fans who I am more than happy 2 take a picture w/ i cant tolerate that kind of rudeness Every1 who was there apologized 4 the woman’s brusque behavior. She obviously wasnt a fan. Hope every1 has a Merry Christmas! LOVE 2 ALL!”

Miley was definitely wrong for responding to the woman in such a hostile way, but I’m glad she was willing to stand up for herself. Surely she would have known the whole world would find out about this incident, but then again, how much patience can a person have when they’re surrounded by cameras and fans 24/7? Hopefully, Miley can learn to control her anger and enjoy the rest of her holiday without incident.
