Trendy Dyed Furs Need to Work with Your Wardrobe

Fur is really big this season. We’ve seen so many celebs rocking it, from vests to the full-on gangster get-up. It’s warm, soft and looks good with almost anything. If you plan on being fur fabulous this season, here are some things to consider:

A color you love. Most furs come in browns, whites, and blacks. But make sure you choose a color that fits well into your wardrobe. If you do decide to get a fur that’s been dyed an unexpected color, just make sure it won’t be a let-down when you actually start wearing it.

A length you’re comfortable with. Like I said before, fur is so in this season, and there’s all types of lengths to choose from.  If you don’t think you’ll be wearing your fur everyday as your go-to coat, try a vest. You can wear it as outerwear, and dress it up for a night on the town. You even can wear it sleeveless—if you’re daring.

Your budget. Outerwear in general can really add up. Make sure you know how much you’re actually willing to spend. There are high end furs, liquidated furs, and furs under designer labels. You can also get some pretty cute fur-a-likes from your local department store like Burlington Coat Factory.

Real vs. Fake. You don’t have to watch much of the news to know that PETA is extremely serious about real fur. There are a lot of people who take pride in real animal furs, but if you’re concerned — or allergic — make sure the fur you’re buying is faux. This season, even the high end department stores got a little confused. You can imagine how controversial it was when people started finding out that their furs were real when they were supposed to faux. Make sure you do your homework on where your fur comes from.

Furs are warm, cuddly and soft. Personally, I wouldn’t wear real fur because of the inhumane way that the fur industry murders the animals just for their coats. But even a faux fur will open up your wardrobe to so many new options. So find the fur that’s right for you this season!
