The night of the Academy Awards is the movie industry’s biggest night of the year. And you can bet that on the biggest night, the biggest stars made sure to look their best. Some movies rocked the awards, but here’s who rocked the red carpet. more…
Back at New York Fashion Week, Gwen Stefani put on an eclectic show for L.A.M.B with street, military, and menswear inspirations. The collection employed men’s ties, slouchy cropped pants, oversize shirts and jackets, and tough-looking leather pieces to add the edge to women’s wear. Embracing the spirit of the line and Gwen Stefani’s personal style, the clothes cater to fearless young women who like to make a statement. more…

A worn-out Muppet crashes on the gravel in the fan-made video
Another fan made video for LCD Soundsytem has made the rounds of You tube, this time involving the whole Muppet gang. This isn’t the first time LCD tunes have been given the Muppet treatment. The first Muppet/LCD Soundsystem video was a rendition of “New York I Love You,” featuring a sad Kermit the Frog on the streets of New York. Watch the new video, “Dance Yrself Clean,” after the jump! more…
Chicago-based rapper Consequence recently released a new music video for his song “Man Purses,” and some speculate that it’s about his former collaborator and label: Kanye West and G.O.O.D music.
On this J-Dilla track, Consequence ventures out to the streets of Soho, New York and captures different men in purses — messenger bags, tote bags, and duffle bags. When I first saw the video, I assumed that was the only meaning behind the song.
However, the song begins with subliminal comments: “I ain’t into man purses, or the glam verses, I put more emphasis on what the fans purchase.” more…
Sweden’s indie songstress Lykke Li is on her way to becoming music’s next biggest thing.
It’s quite surprising that she already hasn’t blown up into a widely recognized artist. Her EP “Little Bit” was the track that started off her journey onto the US music scene. The song proved to be a hit, and all-star artist Drake recorded a remix with Lykke Li for her album.
Now, Lykke Li is more than a little bit famous. She is on the rise with a new album titled Wounded Rhymes premiering on Tuesday, March 1. With a humble spirit she told SPIN Magazine, “My life is crazy right now…I am grateful to be here. I love my life.”
Li strikes me as a free-spirited individual, anxious to create wherever she can. She has further cultivated that spirit in her new album. Her last album, Youth Novels, was quite different. Wounded Rhymes is an album that holds sounds of beautiful desolation in heavy drum beats and electro sounds. Check out the singer’s dark side in a new track off of Wounded Rhymes below:
Li hasn’t yet reached the heights of her potential. However, time is on her side. With the hard work she’s put into publicizing this album, including countless interviews with major magazines and blogs, recognition is soon to come. As an artist and an individual, Lykke Li is in touch with her self. Success and all great things start from within. So be on the lookout for Lykke Li!
Sunscreen? Check. String bikinis? Check. A wave of reality TV drama, courtesy of Bravo? Double check! As the sun sets on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, a new one rises with the premiere of The Real Housewives of Miami. The new addition to the Housewives franchise made its television debut last Tuesday, Feb 22, and like the Housewives before them, there was no shortage of catty drama between the new batch of wives. more…
While the red carpet is usually filled with chiffon dresses in Hollywood, AnnaLynne McCord definitely knows how to shake things up a bit. The sexy actress has probably the furthest thing from a male’s body, yet she is able to pull off the menswear trend flawlessly.
The star of The CW’s 90210 has always been fashion forward on the red carpet, like the time she wore neon yellow nail polish. Although she takes fashion risks, she always looks very put together. Her many menswear looks are no exception.
Menswear has been a big trend the last few seasons, but it can be tricky to pull off if you’re not actually a guy, of course. It can be hard to still look feminine while rocking male-inspired threads. The key to pulling off the look is to wear girly accessories to balance out the rest of the outfit.
AnnaLynne frequently gives us a lesson on how to wear ties. She wore more…
