T.I. aka The King is back with a number one hit movie in the country, “Takers†, a highly anticipated album, “King Uncaged†due out September 28th and ready to take back his spot on the throne. But with all the positive hype surrounding the comeback of Mr. Harris, why are people trying to still throw salt on old wounds?
With more arrests than someone could count on one hand, Clifford “TIP†Harris has seen the inside of jail walls, one too many times. Being most recently arrested on a federal weapons charge while trying to to pick up machine guns from his bodyguard turned informant, four hours before the 2007 BET awards, T.I. was not going to see the sun shine for an extensive amount of time.

T.I. stars in the movie takers along side Chris Brown, Matt Dillon, Paul Walker, and Idris Elba among others
T.I. was sentenced to a maximum of 10 years and a $250,000 after being placed in front of a judge. But after a plea bargain was made, T.I. was only sentenced to one year & a day in prison & ordered to pay $100,300. With such a reduced sentenced, TIP’s name was ringing bells all over. People were questioning his motives and started to accuse Harris of becoming an informant. But with a large amount of proof against those accusations (Harris’s plea bargain in writing was displayed for everyone to view), the accusations were waved off. That is until T.I. was released from jail.
Once the announcement of Harris’s release hit the the streets, everyone started buzzing. Magazines, blogs, TV shows wanted the inside scope on his release. Everyone wanted to know how a man with so many convictions got away with only a slap on the hand. People started calling T.I an informant or how many put it a “snitchâ€again. Rappers started hating & fans dropped T.I. as one of their favorite rappers. But with all the negativity clawing at Harris, he let it all roll down his back & kept it moving.
In a recent interviews, T.I explained why he was let out of jail earlier than others suspected. Claiming that the only reason he got a lesser sentence because he made himself useful to the community & proved that he was a better influence outside of jail then inside, Harris made quite a point. Stating in a recent article in the July/August 2010 issue of XXL magazine “I made myself a useful member of society. Most muthaf***** catch cases and get time. My ni**a, you wasn’t doing sh*t when you was out here, so wasn’t no reason for them to keep you out hereâ€. Well said T.I. Ready to take over the hip-hop world again & proving the accusers wrong, The King has taken the throne.

T.I. is a legend….Real as his music.
