Saturday, August 28th, marked the one year anniversary of the death of Adam Michael Goldstein AKA DJ AM but the one year came & gone without a forgotten memory of one of the best DJ’s that hip-hop experienced.
Dying tragically of a drug overdose was the last thing that people had suspected would happen to DJ AM. Surviving the Learjet crash with friend, Travis Barker, a year before his death, DJ AM was prescribed medication for post tramautic stress & pain. But even though he survived a plane crash, no one thought that his pain would result with his death.
Overdosing on drugs, is a subject that most people don’t want to associate with someone’s death, especially someone in the limelight. But even though DJ AM passed from a drug overdose (NYC State Medical Examiner determined “acute intoxication” was the cause of Goldstein’s death), the only memory of him that lives on, was his true amazing aura.
Goldstein began deejaying at the age of 20 & his career took off & never came back down! Leaving behind a loving family, great friends & adoring fans, DJ AM will never be forgotten! Eminem recently paid tribute to the DJ in his track, “Talkin 2 Myself” by rhyming “Rest in Peace to DJ AM cause I know what its like, I struggle with this shit every single day”. Along with Eminem paying tribute, many others have as well & will continue to as time goes on. DJ AM left a mark in hip-hop.
