The-New-iPadApple’s newest venture – the iPad, created quite a buzz when it was released in April 2010. Apple lovers felt a wave of skepticism, not entirely sure what the iPad did and how it differed from their MacBook of iPhone.

The iPad broke barriers because it is a hybrid between smartphones and laptops. Statistics now show that Apple has sold 1 million iPads as of May 2010. Another shocking statistic shows that iPad sales are more than all Mac sales combined. Currently, Apple is selling about 200,000 iPads and only 110,000 Macs per week. Neither of these numbers are close to the number of iPhones sold per week, which is a shocking 246,000.

Coming up on June 7th is the WWDC – the Worldwide Developers Conference which will keep Apple enthusiasts on the edge of their seats. You may think it’s another nerd-fest where computer geeks with bow ties and glasses get together to discuss things like software and RAM, but in reality it’s what Apple calls “the center of the app universe.” It has been rumored that Apple will announce the newest version of the iPhone and maybe give a preview of the new version of their operating system, OS X.

There’s no doubt that Apple will continue to grow and develop its products for the near future. Apps, the iPhone and now the iPad, have changed the way people work and communicate in the global environment. It’s safe to say that Apple and their army of apps may soon rule the world.
