A woman’s closet is nothing without a mini skirt. Not all women can wear it, but it sure is stashed somewhere in there. The mini-skirt is seen on the runways every season, and just in time for the holidays, embellished skirts are in! Paired with a classier simple white tee, and voila- you have a holiday ensemble.

Today, the mini skirt can be pulled off without looking tacky or like a teenager. Many celebrities have pulled off the trend, including Rihanna and Victoria Beckham. Even though we are all not as thin as Beckham, there is a way to pull of a tight skirt. The key is to balance the top and bottom. When wearing a tight mini, wear a loose top. A simple white or black tee works. For special occasions, add a blazer.

While the mini looks good alone, its not practical for the cold months coming up. Pair with a dark pair of tights. Sheer is out, black is in. A dark pair shows the shape of the legs for a sexy look. By wearing tights, one can wear minis and shorts and still pull them off in the winter.

Besides sequined minis, embellished minis are a way to go this holiday season. Embellished does not mean sequins everywhere. There are more subtle versions of the trend.  Any shimmer on fabric is considered embellished. Minis have been seen with crystals, stones, studs and draping.

With so many options, one embellished mini skirt is sure to catch your eye this season. They can be found at every store. Paired with black tights, the look is foolproof. Just remember, when going bold with the skirt, keep the top clean and simple, as goes for the opposite. Say goodbye to bold mini dresses and hello to embellished minis!
