lipstickssToday, a woman’s lips are her signature, and the color she dresses them up with is her statement. Men are blinded by the pigments, oils, waxes and emollients that lie on the surface of the lips, because what really matters is what she is saying with them. Bold, daring, edgy, and tasteful, without even speaking, a woman’s lips are saying something.

From shades of MAC’s Naked Paris to Maybelline’s Pink Diamonds, a woman’s lips are her investment. As the lady in Britain applies her “lippy,” the Spanish women overseas are putting on their lápiz de labios. But, in her pocketbook, at the bottom of her makeup bag or in the glove compartment of her car, all women are carrying a shade of their soul.

From the Ancient Egyptians to the Greeks, traces of lipstick have been creating illusions for centuries. Giving it a deep red pigment, Cleopatra’s lipstick was made from crushed carmine beetles, and ants for a base! I bet those were a set of lips that had “fierce” written all over them. Today, lips of all shapes and sizes still share one thing in common: a woman out to make a statement. Heather Locklear once said, “You can’t keep changing men, so you settle for changing your lipstick.” Substituted as an accessory for a woman’s ensemble, it’s amazing what a simple shade can do.

The process of lipstick goes a long way, but applying it may take less than 30 seconds. Under the Food and Drug administration, Lipstick goes through strict procedures before it can make its way to the cosmetic aisles.  Lipstick can range from $4.00 to $50.00; but what you chose to have your lips say today, tonight, or tomorrow will forever be priceless!
