lipstickssToday, a woman’s lips are her signature, and the color she dresses them up with is her statement. Men are blinded by the pigments, oils, waxes and emollients that lie on the surface of the lips, because what really matters is what she is saying with them. Bold, daring, edgy, and tasteful, without even speaking, a woman’s lips are saying something.

From shades of MAC’s Naked Paris to Maybelline’s Pink Diamonds, a woman’s lips are her more…

fame monsterLady Gaga has risen on the charts, with her re-package album, The ‘Fame Monster,’ which has two covers. With original lyrics and beats, no wonder she’s a big hit. As for her appearance, she is one of a kind with ever changing looks. Her new music video, “Bad Romance” shows Gaga up close and personal, where she is barely wearing any make up, compared to her regular appearance.

Her first album, The Fame, which sold 4 million copies, has a funk 80’s vibe as well as disco. ‘The Fame Monster’, which was released November 24, has more electronic, dramatic beats, and features 8 new songs from Gaga. Some of the songs have jazz inspiration such as ‘Speechless’ and some take a 180 to country, like ‘Teeth.’

Unlike her first album, this one shows the downside of more…

LeatherFrom the T-birds black patent leather to Michael Jackson’s studded collection, there’s something about men in leather that screams attitude. But once you put a lady in buttery soft leather, it goes beyond.

Now you see it, now you don’t! Jackets, skirts, pants, gloves and bags, have each sparked their leather phase. Barbara Kueny’s article on The Look and Feel at United States Leather, says “American’s buy it by color and style, Europeans by feel.” Keeping that in mind, there is a limitless amount of reasons one is satisfied by leather. From designer sketches to department stores, and into the hands of its consumer’s, leather will forever be captivating!

Known for his line of “Perfecto” jackets, Irving Schott designed and produced the first more…

“When I was younger instead of playing with trucks and cars, I was reading fashion magazines and sewing” said the Fashionisto.  A fashionisto is a male who has a passion for fashion.  Similar to a fashionista, a fashionisto wants to design clothes, own a clothing company, and write for a fashion magazine or even the more farfetched idea of becoming the next, Anna Wintour of Vogue.  These are careers that a fashionisto aspires, just as much as a fashionista.  But what requires a male to be a fashionisto? Is it just the passion for fashion?

A fashionisto is a shopaholic, attentive to trends, and fashion savvy.  You’ve got to have “Style.”  Marinating a love for shopping and to know about all the latest male trends will consist of your style.  Fashionistos take this part of the fashion life very serious just as much as a fashionista and maybe even more. New trends for spring 2010, like long cardigans and more…

Mason Betha

Mason Betha

Former Bad Boy artist Mr. Mason Betha also known as Mase is stealing from his congregation and making it rain in strip clubs. In a recent interview, former Mase follower, Legacy the Jesus, says that Mase is a false prophet, who doesn’t practice what he preaches.

“I was sitting in there for about 3 years [and] I know Mase very well,” he revealed in an interview with hiphopwired.com. “He [‘s] dodging all kind of interviews if you really do the homework on him. He don’t take interviews with CoCo Brother and different people because he don’t’ have an explanation for what he’s doing…I’m sewn into your ministry, you pulling us in the back room asking us to help fund your music projects because more…

baggy-JeansEveryone laughed at MC Hammer when he danced sideways across the television in pants that hung low at the crotch and were tapered at the ankles. Some of us may cringe at old photos of ourselves wearing ‘90s style too big pants with too short halter tops. Well, brace yourselves, because baggy pants are back, and in a big way! Before you start to panic, keep in mind that this new version is much more structured and if worn right, much more flattering.

Voluminous trousers have been seen everywhere from the red carpet (Derek Lam and Alexander Mcqueen both included harem style pants in recent collections) to more casual stores like American Apparel. While the fabric varies from basic white cotton to satiny and metallic finishes, the cut tends to be narrow and high at the waist, full from the hip to the thigh, and narrow again at the ankle. As these pants involve a lot of fabric, the secret to not looking like you’re wearing a sack is in the fit. A pair that cinches the waist at its narrowest point (rather than the below the belly button waist of low rise jeans) works best and can be super slimming. Wear these with a more…

Vince Vaughn’s latest comedy, Couples Retreat, stars four couples in a tropical paradise facing marital issues. Although the U.S. promotional poster used all four couples, marketers removed Faizon Love and Kali Hawk – the only black actors – from the poster used in the United Kingdom. Naturally, the move sparked major controversy and aroused suspicion.

A Universal spokesperson said that the new poster was intended “to simplify the poster to actors who are most [recognizable] in international markets.” Though Love and Hawk may not be as well known as the other six stars, their motive is more…

Jeans“I have often said that I wish I had invented blue jeans: the most
spectacular, the most practical, the most relaxed and nonchalant. They
have expression, modesty, sex appeal, simplicity – all I hope for in
my clothes,” once said by Yves Saint Laurent.

Denim, it has become a representation of American fashion. Over the years jeans have come a long way, from classic blue denim to wide leg to skinny. But which ever style it is, jeans will always make a
statement. Perhaps it started with the classic Levi’s ads or the erotic Calvin Klein campaigns, but jeans have become a must have in every wardrobe.

Past Editor of Harper’s Bazaar, Diana Vreeland, once said, “Blue jeans are the most beautiful things since the gondola.” They didn’t become popular until the 1960’s in which the baby-boomers adopted the trend as their signature. The 1970′ A decade later, jeans became more…

Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham

Beneath every hat is a soul, an expression, a bad hair day, someone dying for attention, and a celebrity hiding from it. A hat can either be the frosting on a cake or the extra ingredient that wasn’t needed. Therefore, this accessory has the capability to benefit an outfit or simply overdue it. According to The hat ladies of Charleston, “Hats should say something more than I’m covering your head. Hats are like people: sometimes they reveal; sometimes they conceal.”

To wear a hat is one thing, but what you choose to wear with it is another. The white cotton, embroidered gold anchor patch, and gold rope surrounding the padded black rim is what makes the yacht captain’s hat so unique. Today, either everyone is smooth sailing, or the captain hat has become a phase of fashion. Victoria Beckham, Pink, Lady Ga Ga and M.I.A are just a few that have sported the look with their tasteful ensembles. Needless to say, many find this look to be more…

Shaunie and Shaq O'Neal

Shaunie and Shaq O'Neal

What’s a woman to do when her man falls into the arms of some other woman? Well, that’s exactly what Shaunie O’Neal, Shaquille O’Neal’s wife, had to find out earlier this week, when reports started surfacing about Shaq’s extra-marital affair.

Apparently, Shaq was caught cheating with another NBA players fiancé, and Shaunie wasn’t too happy about it. This comes on the heels of other reports from past flings Shaq has been involved with. Remember, it was only a year or so ago that he was caught with another young woman, but Shaunie took him back – and got an airplane out of the deal. They were seen walking red carpets, laughing, and even showed their love and devotion for each other at NBA All Star weekend. more…
