Big Boi

If you could have anything in the world for your 16th birthday, what would it be? A new car, shoes, clothes, money… a record label? Big Boi from Outkast has given his daughter, Jordan, the latter. Working with his current label, Purple Record All-Stars, the father and daughter duo are teaming up to create Purple Kidz.

The rapper told Billboard his reasoning on the matter,  “My daughter just turned 16 years old, and you can see it on MTV’s ['My Super Sweet Sixteen'], where they get cars, and things that depreciate and just don’t mean nothing. I wanted to give my child something that she can grow and build and nurture. So I gave her her own label.” It must be nice having the iconic artist as a father. Where’s my record label, dad?

Focusing on young talent, Purple Kidz has already signed 12-year-old YouTube sensation, Gabbie Rae. The new artist, who has already been on “The Tyra Banks Show,” sounds like a blend between Hannah Montana and Rebecca Black. Great, just what the world needs, more songs about going to class and the weekends.

Check out Gabbie below:
