With a new song on the radio almost every week, it’s hard to imagine Rihanna having a personal life, aside from the Chris Brown fiasco. Rihanna reportedly had a meltdown during one of her many tours, but who could blame her? The 23-year-old singer has been working nonstop since her first release in 2005, and Beyoncé, being the music queen that she is, had advised the pop princess to take a break, but will she listen?

Before you even think it, no, Beyoncé isn’t trying to take down her competition because let’s face it, we all know that is no competition. The humble mother of one advised Rihanna to “consider taking a year off showbiz after the culmination of her massive tour to rest and rejuvenate.” Leave it to Baddiebey to help her keep calm, stay strong, and carry on.

Of course taking a break from a 7-year success is not the advice anyone would want to hear, but Rihanna seems to be coming to terms with the idea. I definitely agree with Beyoncé, a break would do Rihanna good since her fame began when she was only sweet 16.

I believe that 17-22 are the crucial ages for development, when people really learn about themselves and grow through their transition from teen to young adult. Since Rihanna has really been working non stop for all those years, some alone time would be good to avoid Chris Brown related drama, and get a chance to reflect on herself, her success, her family, her friends, and the list goes on.

I certainly hope that Rihanna’s break treats her well, and perhaps be an inspiration for future music to come.

How do you feel about Rihanna’s hiatus?
