While Kylie and Rihanna have been flaunting their stylish partnerships with Dolce & Gabbana and Riccardo Tisci respectively, Vogue cover girl Beyonce has landed herself in the same league by partnering with Canadian duo Dsquared2 for her new stage wardrobe.

Beyonce’s stage outfits are typically legendary ( or otherwise sequinned), and this time the twins behind the brand have been called upon to create another legendary pop diva outfit for her five month-long Mrs Carter Show World Tour.

While she could have chosen any designer from Givenchy to Prada, it is interesting how she decided to team up with the duo. Vogue reported that they are all set to create a “show-stopper of an outfit” which will be inspired by their Milan Fashion Week Spring 2013 Glamazon collection. This collection was inspired by the 90s supermodels and paid tributes to our favourites from that era, Linda Evangelista,Cindy Crawford and Christy Turlington. Dsquared2’s collection, inspired by the 90s era, showed lashings of black leather , an abundance of chains and accessories, leather caps and stars favourite- the leotard. This grunge looking collection will definitely be different from the regal route that Beyonce went for in her “Bow down” video.  I am excited to see Beyonce shift from sequin to chains.

While the collaboration might be something new for Beyonce and her fans, there is no doubt that the duo is experienced in working with pop stars. With past events like Christian Aguilera ripping clothes off male models at the end of their 2005 show, designing numerous items for Madonna’s drowned tour in 2001, and dressing Britney Spears for her Circus tour in 2009, we don’t need to doubt Dsquared2’s ability.  I am sure the Catens know how to make clothes that would look cool when she dances onstage.

Although the designs are still not revealed, there are a few styles from the 2013 collection that I hope are incorporated- the leather jacket, the bralets, miniskirts, leather gown (well, why not) and definitely the abundance of gold chain and the funky hat. And if not, there are always flashy outfits from Julien Macdonald to make a mark!
Nevertheless, the pieces will be revealed when her 5 month tour begins  on Monday in Serbia. Till then, what are you expecting out of Beyonce’s new look?
