Early Wednesday morning, Beyonce announced on her official website, the next single off her latest album, 4, will be “Best Thing I Never Had.” The diva shows off her vocal range, which is a nice change up from her first single, “Who Run The World (Girls),” singing about the guy who got away. However, don’t expect this to be a ‘woe is me’ ballad. Instead, Queen B comes at this boy with full appreciation for showing his true colors before she got in over her head.

The new single isn’t ground breaking as the mid-tempo arrangement continues throughout the entire track, not offering many elements of surprise. However, with the song’s lyrics being so relatable and Beyonce singing so powerfully, this song is sure to be a hit, especially among the ladies. Girls everywhere will be belting, “You turned out to be the best thing I never had, And I’m gon’ always be the best thing you never had, I bet it sucks to be you right now,” recounting their latest boy problems.
