A rather glamorous photograph of Mama Beyonce in the jacuzzi holding little Blue Ivy is causing a storm, and media pundits wasted no time to land their jabs on Beyonce’s parenting skills.

“Beyonce set a terrible example for moms and babysitters everywhere by dragging her one-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, into a jacuzzi before subsequently posting a photo of the event to her official Tumblr page,” wrote Molly Chance of zap2it.

An article by Livestrong was done in 2010 about the dangers of hot tubs, reading: “It’s dangerous to take your baby into the hot tub because of the heat. Your baby cannot regulate his body temperature well and can overheat in a hot tub quickly. Overheating can make him extremely uncomfortable and cause his heart to race. In some cases, overheating can cause death.”

While we’re glad that bloggers and the media are keeping their ear to the ground with every single thing Beyonce and her fam are doing, let’s not be so quick to judge. In fact, I don’t see a thermometer sticking out of the jacuzzi that says the water is boiling hot, nor do I see steam rising from the waters. We were too quick to draw conclusions. Perhaps Blue Ivy isn’t boiling as much as she is enjoying a luke warm bath in a tub with jets.

So is Beyonce a bad mother? I think not. Today’s pop culture is marred with bad parenting and negligence (See Octomom, Tanning Mom, Farrah Abraham). Gossip sites and magazines are quick to dissect and prod – sometimes even making the situation seem ten times worse than what it may appear to actually be. Beyonce just so happens to be caught in the frenzy, except the media has no real standing to make their judgments. They’ve judged a book by its cover.

So unless we see pictures of Blue Ivy with heat burns or just stop seeing pictures of Blue Ivy at all, keep the suspicions and accusations of Bey at bay. What do you guys think>
