Zach Condon of Beirut

It’s been a while both since Zach Condon of Beirut released March of the Zapotec/Holland EP and the Red Hot Organization released an album. The Red Hot Organization raises money to support awareness of AIDS through benefit projects. They previously made music elitists everywhere (let’s be serious, they’re in their rooms listening to vinyl) swoon under their headphones with Dark Was the Night.

The newest album to be set forth is Red Hot Rio 2 the sequel to the 1996 compilation, Red Hot Rio. The new compilation will be a tribute to late 60’s Brazilian music and will feature Beirut, Devendra Banhart, Madlib, José González, John Legend, Dirty Projectors, of Montreal, St. Vincent, Neon Indian, Beck and more.

Listen to Beirut’s cover of Caetano Veloso’s “O Leãozinho” below!
