Keira Knightly and Jude Law might seem like a match made in heaven, but Anna Karenina and Banana Republic might be one as well. Much like their popular Mad Men collection, Banana Republic has announced they will be coming out with a Anna Karenina collection in October.  The highly anticipated film adaption of Leo Tolstoy classic is due in theaters November 9.

Keira Knightly in Anna Karenina

The tragic romance of Anna Karenina and Count Vronsky will be brought to life on the big screen and in the front windows of a mall near you. In a recent article for Women’s Wear Daily, Simon Kneen, BR’s creative director and executive vice president for design said about the film.

“Costume designer Jacqueline Durran said her brief was using a bit more Fifties-influence of Dior’s New Look. It was historical but had a twist to it as well.”

Fashionista’s will be cheering for the Russian-inspired collection. Fur-trimmed collars and pearls are to be expected as well as accessories and handbags. After the huge success of the Mad Men collection, it is no doubt that Banana Republic has stepped it up yet again. How do you feel about the Russian Inspired take over? Are you excited about any certain pieces?
