Balmain, the French fashion house known for its ridiculously expensive clothing, will launch a secondary ready-to-wear clothing line this fall. The house recently saw the departure of their head designer, Christophe Decarnin, who was replaced by Olivier Rousteing last month. The shake-up may have something to do with the new turn to cheaper clothing.
As I see it, Balmian has brilliant and meticulously detailed clothes in both their couture and ready to wear, but they often do not sell because of their high prices. But as reported, that all may change as the new collection will not have a thousand dollar t-shirts and will be ‘younger’ and have affordable prices.
The line will be named after the house’s founder Pierre Balmain and will include both men and women’s clothing
The collection is set to launch alongside the fashion week in New York this September and will be designed by a different team than the one designing the runway. So maybe this time all the Balmain fans can actually buy the collection instead of devouring it.ad campaign, affordable, balmain, christopher decarnin, fashion, new york, oliver rousteing, Pierre Balmain, ready-to-wear, runway, summer
